SAWA Workshop

On 15 May SAWA was pleased to present a zine making workshop with Australian artist Damon Kowarsky and Cairo writer and journalist Nancy Ibrahim.

Zines [short for magazines] are the simplest of artist's books. Made with materials as accessible as photocopy and staples they are an inclusive, democratic and most of all fun medium.

In this workshop artists learnt how to make a simple zine. This included are ideas on design, construction, printing and distribution. The zines were worked on both individually and collaboration with other artists or writers.

The SAWA zine making workshop was gratefully supported by the Australian Embassy Cairo.
