Belgrade International Printmaking Triennial

The Fourth International Printmaking Triennial was organized in order to promote printmaking and present contemporary production by authors from different cultural backgrounds.

The open call for the Fourth International Printmaking Triennial was announced in December 2019 and lasted until March 15, 2020 and 400 artists from 43 countries applied for the Triennial Competition (295 artists from abroad and 105 artists from Serbia).

Due to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) the Triennial was compelled to change the plan for holding the event and adapt to the state of emergency. In light of these circumstances they made a decision to organize a virtual exhibition, in hope that the virtual version of the Fourth International Printmaking Triennial will succeed in presenting all the particularities of the printmaking medium as well as the poetics of artists’ works that contribute to the preservation of this art discipline.

The accompanying program of the central exhibition include exhibitions of award-winning artists from the Third International Printmaking Triennial: Zhang Minjie, China, Chantal Hardy, Belgium and Jelena Sredanović, Serbia, Henryk Krolikowski, Poland, and Art Werger, USA.

'Essential Work' at Solander Gallery

Solander Gallery is pleased to present

20 May to 27 June

Solander Gallery is getting ready to welcome everyone back after the New Zealand national lockdown with the group show Essential Work. Solander artists have been invited to reflect on these challenging times and how they are emerging from isolation.

The exhibition's title points towards the idea of art being essential for practitioners as both their livelihood and life’s work. Not only is art essential for the creator but also for people who engage with the cultural fabric of society. Essential Work is a celebration for artists, galleries and the public alike.

Gallery opening times will be announced following the transition to Level 2 restrictions.

Artists include Belinda Griffiths, Milarky, Lynn Taylor, Jacqueline Aust, Sam Broad, Catherine Macdonald, Tabatha Forbes, Rick Allender, Margaret Elliot, Rona Green, Michele Bryant, Robert Hague, Damon Kowarsky, Chris Adams, Nuala Gregory, Marci Tackett, Chris Ingham, and Inge Doesburg.
