Summer Residency in Melbourne

In January Damon Kowarsky will be working with Tara Gilbee on a collaborative drawing project at Level 17 Art Space, Victoria University.

This project began early in 2009 and has progressed through the regular exchange of drawings via post.

The thematic material explored in the drawings is open. Ideas are suggested in response to each other's drawings as well as themes taken from the main body of our work. To maintain a unity of expression the size of each drawing has been set and a certain constraint on materials observed. This second protocol was arrived at organically, and like the subject matter is constantly open to re-evaluation and transformation.
